Police: Woman Approached While Walking

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Police are warning women to be careful after reports of woman being threatened while walking in Raleigh Tuesday morning.

Police said the woman was walking at about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 2600 block of Oxford Road when she was approached by a male suspect.

The victim said the suspect implied he had a firearm and demanded that the victim go with him to a nearby wooded area. The woman, who did not see a gun, fled and said the suspect did not follow her.

The suspect is described as about 6 feet tall and weighs about 195 pounds. He was wearing a navy-colored sweat suit, and navy-colored hat with unknown white lettering.
