A Garner man has been arrested and charged with the severe beating of a pizza delivery driver Thursday night in Garner.
Demetrice Lamont Tucker, of 106 Center St., Garner was charged with common law robbery and assault inflicting serious injury in the attack of Di Yang, a driver who works for Papa John's Pizza.
Yang is listed in critical condition at WakeMed.
According to witnesses, Yang was assaulted by several men. He was apparently beaten and robbed of his wallet, pizzas and business money.
Police had arrived at the scene at 925 Bryan Place at the Bryan Woods Apartment Complex at 8:25 p.m. on reports of a robbery at the location.
Tucker was identified as the person placing the order by using the cell phones of Yang and Tucker.
Garner police are offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrests and convictions of the other men involved. Anyone with information can call Garner police at 772-8810 or Crimestoppers at 226-CRIME.
