Fun for Families, Clubs, Groups, Individuals:
This year, the SPCA is offering pet lovers more than just one day of helping animals. Using the same technology that powers popular social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook, the SPCA encourages pet lovers to set up their own web pages at www.spcawake.org/walk. Participants use these pages to post pets' photos, track training progress and blog their goals for this year's Dog Walk. These pages are emailed and forwarded across the nation to friends and family members in hopes of raising awareness and money to benefit homeless pets. Sign up as an individual, join a team, or create a team and bring your friends along.
Good for Businesses
The SPCA is encouraging local companies to create a unique team building experience for employees. The Dog Walk is a great event for Triangle area businesses to inspire employee teamwork, set and exceed goals, and even foster friendly competition in the workplace or with competing businesses. Forming a company team, made up of employees can be both morale building for the employees and great advertising for the business.
Employees are encouraged to create team names, make signs and T-shirts with their team name and logo to hold and wear while walking the K9-3K on April 18, 2009. This is a fun and entertaining way for companies to be seen while giving their employees a teambuilding exercise that gives back to the community.
The animals need help so get involved today! Founded in Raleigh in 1967, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Wake County is dedicated to creating a more humane community where every adoptable animal has a home.
