Local chefs, triangle bands and charities are coming together for the first ever Hillsborough Street Renaissance Festival this weekend. The event will feature live music, food, activities for the family and fundraisers for charities on Saturday, March 14.
Organizers say this festival is intended to kick off the two-year construction project that is expected to help revitalize the area. According to the developers, Kimley-Horn and Associations the improvements will include:
• On street parking
• Additional parking spaces
• Two-lane section with a median from Gardner to Oberlin.
• Roundabouts
Fair-goers can expect an eco-friendly fashion show, an organic iron chef competition, green and sustainable energy showcase. Hillsborough Street will be closed from noon until ten p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
