Really people. A child has been attacked and you are more interested in the grammar lesson than the issue at hand. Pathetic!

Am I missing something, BMD? You quote the author as stating the victim was "attacked by a hammer" but what I read is that the victim was "attacked WITH a hammer". This is proper grammar. I don't see a need for English 101.

Did the hammer have a previous record of violence, maybe an assault on a thumb? Was it employed by the schools or related to hard headed children. Maybe it suffered anxieties from tackless or heavy handed parents. Uh, Oh. This is surely no laughing matter to the victim. Hope she recovers well and the real culprit, not the hammer, is locked away for a long time.

Hmm... Why is the high school allowing hammers to wander around the school in the first place? Lock 'em up so no student can be "attacked by a hammer." Whoever wrote this blurb needs to go back and take English Grammar 101.
