If you're using a Hewlett-Packard or Compaq notebook computer you might need to check the battery. The lithium ion batteries in both those small computers are being recalled by H-P.
Several batteries have reportedly overheated and ruptured, resulting in small fires that caused minor property damage. No injuries have been reported. You're advised to remove the recalled battery, only use the AC adapter then contact HP to dtermine if the battery is included in the recall and to request a free replacement battery.
