The Town of Spring Lake is considering hiring a consultant or a retired police chief to come in and assess the town's police department, according to Spring Lake Mayor Ethel T. Clark.
Myor Clark spoke with NBC-17 following a Board of Alderman meeting, Monday evening. Clark went on to say a consultant may also help as the town searches for a permanent police chief.
Last week the Spring Lake police department was stripped of its power. The police chief resigned and two senior officers were arrested on numerous charges
