A Wilson County church is reaching out during a tough economy in order to offer hope.
Helping Others Pursue Employment kicked off Monday evening at the Black Creek United Methodist Church in Black Creek.
More than a dozen prople showed up to receive help with their resumes and ideas for additional job training.
Event organizers tell NBC-17 that individuals ranged from students to people recently laid off. Several who attended the church function were people who still had full-time jobs but were worried about people laid off and were preparing just in case.
The event was designed to offer people the jump start and support that some may need during this difficult economy.
The church plans to continue the series through the middle of June.
