Fort Bragg's 507th Corps Support Group is going out of existence.
The 2,150-man unit will be deactivated Friday during a ceremony at Ritz-Epps Physical Fitness Center and folded into the 82nd Sustainment Brigade. The 507th provided supplies, transportation and administrative support.
Created in May 1943, the unit traces its lineage to North Africa, Sicily and southern France during World War II. It also fought in Vietnam. Since 2001, soldiers from the 507th deployed to Bosnia, Panama, Peru, Mali, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
