Authorities are searching for a suspect in the shooting deaths of two people at the North Carolina home.

Surry County Sheriff Graham Atkinson said deputies found the bodies of a man and a woman in the kitchen of a Mount Airy house shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday. Atkinson said early Wednesday the search continues.

The victims hadn't been identified late Tuesday. The sheriff didn't give their estimated ages.

Atkinson said detectives were interviewing some witnesses who heard shots.
